Our NYC Employee Relief Fund, established proudly in partnership with Robin Hood, gives one-time $500 cash grants to restaurant workers.

We established our employee relief fund to support NYC’s restaurant workers facing unemployment and rampant uncertainty with cash assistance. We've been able to get relief and assistance to those who needed it as quickly as possible.

To date, in partnership with Robin Hood, we’ve raised over $2,800,000 dollars to support laid off NYC restaurant workers facing incredible economic hardship as a result of the pandemic. Along with partners such as DoorDash, Credit Suisse, Lingua Franca, San Pellegrino and some incredibly generous friends of the restaurant industry, we’ve been able to give thousands of $500 cash grants to the people responsible for making our businesses and entire communities the warm havens they’ve always been.

Our fund has gone to support 3,073 NYC restaurant workers and their families, facing unprecedented loss, uncertainty and loss as a result of COVID19. We have many more applicants in the pipeline and we are grateful to be able to support this many New Yorkers with the support of our city and state behind us.

The Fund grants are intended to be awarded on a first-come-first served basis (expressly subject to the availability of donations received by the Fund) to those individuals facing unprecedented economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic that meet the prescribed eligibility criteria detailed below, as reviewed and verified by Family Independence Initiative (FII). A one-time grant of $500 will be disbursed directly to the applicant pending FII’s’s review and verification that their submitted application meets the prescribed guidelines. Availability of awards will be based on available funds and will be limited to one per individual.
